How To Get Bank Fees Reversed

Introduction
Almost everyone incurs fees from their bank once in a while. What people don’t know is that more times than not, you can easily have those bank fees reversed.
What are bank fees?
Some of the most common bank fees are late charges, low balance fees, account fees, check fees, bounced check fees, and late payment fees. Depending on what bank you are a member of you could be paying anywhere from $10 to $50 for some of these fees. These subtractions from your bank account add up at the end of the year.
How to get bank fees reversed
So what can you do to have these fees reversed? Most of the time it is as simple as a phone call to your bank asking them to remove the fee. Let’s say you got sick at the end of the month and forgot to pay your credit card bill on time. At my bank, WellsFargo, I would incur a fee of $20. Since I don’t have a history of late payments WellsFargo is more than happy to remove the fee and credit my account. Most banks are willing to do this just by requesting it. Always remember to be nice and courteous to the customer service rep because that makes it easier for them to want to help you. This also works for old fees. Since I am assuming you just found out about this method, try asking your bank to remove most or all of your old fees that have been charged!
Too Many Fees
This strategy becomes more difficult when a person has a history of late payments or incurring the same fee over and over again. If you have a large credit card bill that hasn’t been paid off in months, you will start getting hit with late fees and finance charges with very high rates. Each month that goes by you will get hit with more and more fees and interest. As this builds, banks are less and less likely to reverse fees. At this point, it is best to pay the minimum payment and ask politely to have as many late fees removed. Unfortunately, most banks won’t reverse finance charges.
