Low Price HDMI Cables

Why are HDMI Cables So Expensive?

HDMI cables from best buy can cost up to anywhere around $60+ for a 3-5 foot cable. This is a ridiculous markup and people have finally been calling companies out for it. One of the biggest culprits in the HDMI cable markup scam is Monster cable. They claim their cables provide extraordinary video quality and performance, but lots of research has gone into proving this wrong. I will skip proving to you why having gold-plated, NASA-researched, alien-sent materials being used on your cables will not provide you with a better HD experience. Please read the previous link for more information about this.

Brand vs. Private Label

This is another case of buying private label brands vs. buying brand name. To be clear, there will be little to no difference in video quality between brand name cables like Monster, and private label brands. So why do people shell out their hard earned money on over-priced rip off cables like Monster? Simply because it is the brand name that stores like BestBuy sell. If BestBuy sold $5 cable right next to $90 cable for the exact same thing, how many people would opt for the $90?

Where to Buy HDMI Cables for Cheap

The best place I have come across to buy dirt cheap private label brand HDMI cables is monoprice.com. Monoprice.com has much more than just HDMI cables, they have all different types of cables and components for electronics. Here is a 5 foot HDMI cable from monoprice for just $8. The same type of cable by Monster cable can be found at BestBuy.com for $50. This is actually a lot cheaper than I expected BestBuy to be charging. My point is, do not ever buy an HDMI cable for more than $15. This should be at the high end of what you are willing to spend. Check out monoprice.com for all your cable needs.
